Hormone optimization is a long relationship, not a prescription.
Testosterone and hormone optimization for men and women, dosed from your labs and your symptoms, monitored on a fixed schedule, and adjusted by a clinician who knows your history.

Two different conversations.
For men · testosterone therapy
- Fatigue that sleep does not fix, loss of strength or training response, low libido, poor recovery, brain fog, irritability, rising body fat despite unchanged habits.
- Evaluation includes morning total and free testosterone on two separate draws, LH and FSH, estradiol, SHBG, prolactin, thyroid panel, a complete blood count and a PSA where age-appropriate, because the goal is to find the cause, not simply to prescribe.
For women · perimenopause and menopause
- Hot flashes, disrupted sleep, mood changes, brain fog, loss of muscle tone, joint aches, low libido, changes that began in the forties and were dismissed as stress.
- Evaluation covers symptom timeline and menstrual history alongside estradiol, FSH, thyroid function, ferritin and, where appropriate, testosterone, with treatment options discussed in full, including what the evidence says about risk.
Monitoring is the treatment.
Hormone optimization carries real risks, and monitoring is how they are caught early. Dosing starts conservatively and is adjusted on data, not on how you felt the week you started. Men on testosterone are monitored for hematocrit, estradiol and prostate markers; fertility is discussed before the first injection, not after.
We do not prescribe without a baseline panel, we do not refill indefinitely without follow-up, and we do not treat a number in isolation from the person attached to it.

Questions, answered plainly.
Will I be on this for life?
Possibly, and that should be part of the decision from the beginning. We discuss what stopping looks like before you start.
Does hormone optimization therapy affect fertility?
Certain hormone therapies, particularly testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), can affect fertility by reducing sperm production. At Nuvex, our experienced medical providers evaluate your individual needs and fertility goals before recommending treatment. When appropriate, they may prescribe medications or recommend alternative approaches to help preserve fertility.
This is why choosing a qualified, knowledgeable medical provider for hormone optimization is essential. Your treatment should support your long-term health goals, not just optimize your hormone levels.
Can I keep my own primary care physician?
Yes, and we encourage it. With your consent we share results and the treatment plan so your care stays coordinated.
Do you treat women who were told their labs were normal?
Often. Symptoms and timeline matter alongside laboratory values, particularly in perimenopause, where values fluctuate.
